Imphal: A District Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) for Imphal West District has been constituted in connection with the forthcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024 as per an order issued by the DC, Imphal West on January 5, 2024.
District Election Officer/DC, Imphal West District will be the Chairman of the said Committee and All Assistant Returning Officers of Imphal West District; Thokchom Jogendrajit Singh, News Editor of Regional News Unit, AIR, Imphal; Aribam Robindro Sharma, Editor, Poknapham; Maibam Kubiheiba Meitei, ADIO, Imphal West and N. Roshan, Assistant Publicity Officer, DIPR will be members.
The Terms of Reference for the MCMC of Imphal West shall be: 1. Matters related to election-related advertisements, paid news, cable network, etc. 2. Matters related to the usage of social media for election and complaints thereof. 3. Compliance to ECI and CEO, Manipur’s instruction on MCMC from time to time, the order added.
