Maratha reservation: documents of castes invited for enrollment by Nov 24

According to an official press statement, a committee, under the chairmanship of retired Justice Sandeep Shinde, has been formed to suggest steps to be taken to grant reservation to the Marathas.

Mumbai: Mumbai City deputy collector (SP) Kalyan Pandey on Monday issued an order asking citizens of Mumbai city and district who have with them documentary evidences mentioning that they belong to Kunbi, Maratha-Kunbi or Kunbi-Maratha castes are requested to submit the same in the Mumbai City collector’s office during a special drive to be undertaken from November 21 to 24.

According to instructions received by this committee, citizens of Mumbai city and district have been told that they should keep the records of Kunbi, Maratha-Kunbi or Kunbi-Maratha castes, genealogy, educational and revenue proofs, old charters, national documents, etc., ready, the statement added.
