Imphal: Manipur reported one Covid related death, eight new positive cases among the general population and 13 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Imphal West, he had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated. With this death, the cumulative toll in the state now stands at 2000.
Of the 13 persons who tested positive from the general population, five are from Imphal West, two from Bishnupur and one from Churachandpur. The state positivity rate improved to .8% as a total of 962 samples were tested.
Meanwhile, 13persons recovered and were discharged, seven of them from home isolation, four from CCCs and two from JNIMS. The recovery rate in Manipur now stands at 98.26 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,693 out of which 1,23,507 have recovered, leaving 186 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on December 23, 2021, is 3,932, the cumulative number of doses administered is 22,89,723 (1st dose 13,17,399, 2nd dose 9,72,324).
