Imphal: With 279 persons (202 general population 77 CAPF) testing positive out of a total of 1,938 persons, the positivity rate in Manipur saw a considerable spike of 14.4 % in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Sunday. During the same period, one person succumbed to Covid -19 and 59 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The lone person who expired Saturday is from Imphal East. He had no co-morbidity and had been vaccinated with the 2nd dose. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1015.
Of the 202 persons from the general population who tested positive, 98 are from Imphal West, 53 from Imphal East, 19 from Churachandpur, seven from Thoubal, six each from Kakching and Kangpokpi, four from Senapati, two each from Bishnupur and Tengnoupal and one from Tamenglong.
Meanwhile, 59 persons recovered and were discharged, 32 from home isolation, 24 from CCCs and three from JNIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 97.41 %
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 27,258 out of which 1,23,961 have recovered, leaving 1282 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on January 15, 2022, is 4,507, the cumulative number of doses administered is 23,86,700 (1st dose 13,61,456, 2nd dose 10,19,282) and precautionary 5,962.
There a total of 190 covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 67 are occupied while 123 are vacant while in RIMS there are 47 Covid beds, out of which 10 are occupied and 37 are vacant, the release added.
