Manipur sees improved positivity rate of 5.8 % Saturday

The four persons who succumbed to the deadly virus include two from Churachandpur and one each from Imphal West and Thoubal.

Imphal: Manipur’s positivity rate on Saturday stood at a much improved 5.8 % as 140 persons (135 general population 5 CAPF) tested positive out of a total 3,425 persons tested. The state also recorded 4 Covid related deaths and 228 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Saturday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The four persons who succumbed to the deadly virus include two from Churachandpur and one each from Imphal West and Thoubal. All the deceased had co-morbidities while one of them have been vaccinated with the 2nd dose. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1830.

 The 135 persons (73 males, 62 females) from the general population who tested positive include 66 from Imphal West, 20 from Imphal East, 10 from Bishnupur, 8 from Chandel, 7 each Chrachandpur and Kangpokpi, 3 from Thoubal, 2 each from Kakching and Kamjong and Senapati.

Of the 228 persons who were discharged, 79 were from home isolation, 97 were from CCCs, 34 were from CHICs, 6 were from RIMS and 12 from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 96.61 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,18,261 (General Population – 1, 14,030, Central Security Personnel 4,231). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 14,251 (General Population – 1, 10,054, Central Security Personnel – 4,167). The number of active cases is 2,180 (General Population – 2,121, Personnel – 59).

The total number of doses administered on September 17, 2021, is 3,195 and the cumulative number doses administered is 16,20,774 (1st dose 12,13,267, 2nd dose 4,07,507).

The total number of beds available in various hospitals for Covid-19 patients on September 18 is 565 out of which 456 are general beds while 109 are ICU beds.

The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state on September 18 is 3467 out of which 777 are occupied and 2690 are vacant.
