Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday, Manipur reported 5 Covid related deaths, 208 new positive cases (185 general population 23 CAPF) and 241 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The 5 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus include 2 each from Imphal East and Ukhrul and one from Bishnupur. Three of the deceased had co-morbidities while none of them were vaccinated for Covid. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1826.
The 185 persons (90 males, 95 females) from the general population who tested positive include 94 from Imphal West, 39 from Imphal East, 20 each from Kamjong, 9 from Churachandpur, 8 from Bishnupur, 7 each from Thoubal and Ukhruland, 6 from Senapati, 5 from Kangpokpi 4 from Kakching and 3 each from Chandel and Pherzawl.
Altogether, 2,713 samples were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 7.7 %.
Of the 241 persons who were discharged, 72 were from home isolation, 119 from CCCs, 23 from CHICs, 15 from RIMS and 12 from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 96.53 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,18,121(General Population – 1, 13,895, Central Security Personnel 4,226). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 14,023 (General Population – 1, 09,868, Central Security Personnel – 4,155). The number of active cases is 2,272(General Population – 2,206, Personnel – 66).
The total number of doses administered on September 16, 2021, is 3,195 and the cumulative number doses administered is 16,16,464 (1st dose 12,12,520, 2nd dose 4,03,944).
The total number of beds available in various hospitals for Covid-19 patients on September 17 is 612 out of which 502 are general beds while 110 are ICU beds.
The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state on September 17 is 3467 out of which 817 are occupied and 2650 are vacant.
