Imphal: Manipur yet again reported a significant spike of 1,284 new positive cases in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday. During the same period, it also reported 15 Covid related deaths and 949 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The 1,284 persons who tested positive Friday included 381 from Imphal West, 310 from Imphal East, 140 from Churachandpur, 117 from Bishnupur, 95 from Thoubal, 85 from Kakching, 51 from Chandel, 34 from Tamenglong, 18 from Senapati, 17 from Tengnoupal, 14 from Ukhrul 9 from Kangpokpi, 8 from Noney and 5 from Jiribam.
The positivity rate is 18.8%.
Of the 15 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic, seven of them are from Imphal West, three from Bishnupur, two each from Imphal East and Kangpokpi and one from Churachandpur. The cumulative Covid related death toll in the state now stands at 1,451..
 Meanwhile, of the 949 persons who were discharged, 392 of them were on home isolation, 392 were from CHICs, 155 were from CCCs and 10 were from JNIMS. Due to various reasons, 776 are reported as discharged cases only on Friday. Therefore, the total number of recovered cases is considered to be 1735 after reconciliation with reports from IDSP team, Home Isolation team, Community Isolation and Hospitalisation team as on July 23. recovery rate in the state stands at 87.38% on Friday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 90,262 (General Population – 86,310, Central Security Personnel – 3,961). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 78,872(General Population – 74,978, Central Security Personnel – 3,894). The number of active cases is 9,939(General Population – 9,877 Personnel – 62).
23,572 persons were vaccinated on June July 21, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 11,34,710(1st dose 9,94,710, 2nd dose 1,39,728).
78 new cases of Delta variant has been confirmed against 83 sample sent for genome sequencing on July 1, 2021, the release added.
