Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Friday, Manipur reported 522 positive cases(521 general population, 1 CAPF), eight Covid related deaths and 673 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The eight persons, who succumbed to the deadly pandemic, include four from Bishnupur and one each from Churachandpur, Imphal West, Kakching and Ukhrul. The cumulative death toll in the state with these eight deaths now stands at 1,691.
Of these eight persons who expired, seven of them had co-morbidities while two had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.
The 521 persons (270males, 251 females) who tested positive from amongst the general population include 184 from Imphal West, 145 from Imphal East, 70 from Bishnupur, 32 from Churachandpur, 24 from Thoubal, 19 from Ukhrulo, 16 from Kakching, 13 from Tamenglong, five from Kangpoikpi, four from Jiribam, three from Noney, two from Tengnoupal and one from Chandel.
A total of 4,053 persons were tested on Thursday amounting to a positivity rate of 12.9%.
Meanwhile, 673 persons were discharged which include 284 from home isolation, 191 from CHICs, 179 from CCCs, 5 from JNIMS and 19 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 92.2% on Thursday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 07,229(General Population – 1, 03,162, Central Security Personnel – 4,067). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 98,867(General Population – 94,851, Central Security Personnel – 4,016). The number of active cases is 6,671(General Population – 6,625, Personnel – 46).
Altogether, 6,167were vaccinated on August 12, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 31,129(1st dose 11,63,774, 2nd dose 2,67,355).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 13, is 204 which include 138 general beds and 66 ICU/HDU beds.
Of the total 3547 beds available in CCCs in the state on August 13, 1245 are occupied while 2302 are vacant, the release added.
