Imphal: For the second consecutive day Manipur registered 4 Covid related deaths and the recovery rate improves to 95.08%. The last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Monday, also saw 270 positive cases (269 general population, 1 CAPF) and 554 recoveries in the state, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
Of the 4 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus, 2 are from Imphal West and 1 from Kakching and Ukhrul. The cumulative death toll in the state with these 4 deaths now stands at 1,755.
Two of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while one of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.
The 269 persons (136 males, 133 females) from the general population who tested positive include 78 from Imphal West, 75 from Imphal East, 19 from Ukhrul, 15 from Kakching, 14 from Bishnupur, 13 from Senapati, 2 from Thoubal, 10 from Tamenglong, 9 each from Noney and Churachandpur, 5 each Chandel and Kangpokpi and 2 from Tengnoupal.
Altogether, a total of 2,441 persons were tested accounting for a positivity rate of 11.1 % in the state on Monday.
Meanwhile, 554 persons were discharged which include 200 from home isolation, 166 from CHICs, 152 from CCCs, 16 from JNIMS and 20 from RIMS.
The recovery rate in the state further improves to 95.08 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,11,212 (General Population – 1, 07,122, Central Security Personnel – 4,090). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 05,751 (General Population – 1, 01,689, Central Security Personnel – 4,062). The number of active cases is 3,706 (General Population – 3,683, Personnel – 23).
Altogether, 1,040 persons were vaccinated on August 22, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 80,703 (1st dose 11,76,759, 2nd dose 3,03,944).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 23, is 403 which include 323 general beds and 80 ICU/HDU beds.
The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state is 3547 out of which 929 are occupied and 2618 are vacant.
