Imphal: Manipur for the 13th straight day registered below 1000 positive cases. In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Tuesday, the state saw 633 new positive cases(629 general population, 4 CAPF), 7 covid related deaths and 648, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The 7 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic, include three from Imphal East, two from Imphal West, and one each from Bishnupur and Tengnoupal. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,664.
Of these 7 persons who expired, six of them had co-morbidities while two of them have been vaccinated with the 1st dose.
The 629 persons (301 males, 328 females) who tested positive from amongst the general population include 271 from Imphal West, 133 from Imphal East, 39 from Bishnupur, 66 from Churachandpur, 30 from Thoubal, 24 from Noney, 23 from Kakching, 19 from Senapati, nine from Chandel, three each from Pherzawl and Tamenglong, two from Tengnoupal and one each from Jiribam, Kamjong, and Kangpokpi.
Altogether 5,118 persons were tested on Friday amounting for a positivity rate of 12.4%.
Meanwhile, 648 persons were discharged which include 302 from home isolation, 199 from CHICs, 127 from CCCs, 7 from JNIMS and 13 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 91.79 % on Sunday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,05,424(General Population – 1,01,583, Central Security Personnel – 4,061). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 96,776(General Population – 92,803, Central Security Personnel – 3,973). The number of active cases is 8,984(General Population – 6,901, Personnel – 83).
Altogether, 3,021were vaccinated on August 9, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14,06,729(1st dose 11,53,583, 2nd dose 2,53,146).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 10 is 220 which include 155 general beds and 65 ICU/HDU beds.
Of the total 3547 beds available in CCCs in the state, 1291 are occupied while 2255 are vacant, the release added.
