Imphal: Manipur Police arrested six cadres of KCP(PWG) from Kshetrigao Yumkhaibam Leirak, Imphal East District on last Friday.
The cadres have been identified as Chingakham Sanajaoba Singh @ Sana @ Dojo (23 yrs); Soibam Sital Singh (24 yrs) ; Maibam Naresh Singh (24 yrs); Ningthoujam Ajit Singh (26 yrs); Chingsubam Thounagamba Meitei @ Amujao (30 yrs) and Premjit Singh @ Abung (40 yrs).
They were involved in the kidnapping of two individuals from Imphal East. The two kidnapped victims were also rescued by Manipur Police.
Further from their posession the following items were recovered: one Maruti Suzuki Van, one two-wheeler Vehicle and five mobile phones, according to a press note from the Manipur Police Control Room.
Kidnapper nabbed at Waithou
On the other hand, a combined team of Thoubal police and Assam Rifles rescued one Md Amir @ Boboy, 24, son of Habibur Rahaman of Lilong Chingjao from Waithou on Saturday.
The security personnel also apprehended the kidnapper, Md Sarif Khan @ Masten (active member of Ningol Machal group), 28, son of Md Abdul Gaffar @ Idrish Ali of Phouden Maning Leikai.
From him, one 9mm pistol (countrymade) with 7 rounds of ammunition along with one Honda Activa were also seized.
A regular FIR has been registered at Lilong police station for further investigation.
