Manipur observes National Cleanliness Day

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh led the other dignitaries in paying floral tribute at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.

Imphal: Manipur observed National Cleanliness Day/Swachh Bharat Diwas, 2024 at Gandhi Memorial Hall, here on Wednesday, with Chief Minister N. Biren Singh leading the other dignitaries in paying floral tribute at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.

Ministers, Member of Parliament, Advocate General, Members of Legislative Assembly and high ranking civil and police officials also attended the observation and paid floral tribute to the Father of the Nation.

Speaking to the media at the sideline of the programme, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh appealed to the public to take their part in keeping the State neat and clean. He further asked the people of the State to have belief in non-violence, which had always been advocated by Mahatma Gandhi. 

He stressed the need to resolve every issue facing the State through non-violent and political means. He also sought the people’s support and dedication in taking the State forward.
