Imphal: With two more Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday, Manipur’s cumulative death toll stands at 1,940. During the same period, the state also reported 64 new positive cases (63 from the general population and 1 from CAPF) while 45 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the health department.
Of the two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus, one is from Imphal West while the other person is from Thoubal. One of the expired person had co-morbidities while both of them had not been vaccinated for Covid.
Of the 63 persons who tested positive from the general population, 44 of them are from Imphal West, 31 from Imphal East, four from Ukhrul, two each from Churachandpur and Thoubal and one each from Kangpokpi and Noney.
Altogether, 2,194 persons were tested giving a positivity rate of 2.9 %.
Meanwhile, 45 persons recovered and were discharged, 11 of them from home isolation, 26 from CCCs, two from JNIMS and 11 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.86 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 24,250 out of which 1,21,586 have recovered leaving 710 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on November 9, 2021, is 7,538, the cumulative number of doses administered is 20,24,700 (1st dose 12,55,650, 2nd dose 7,69,050).
