Manipur logs three deaths, 66 recoveries Wednesday

All the three persons who expired Wednesday due to Covid are from Imphal East. All three of them had co-morbidities while two of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose. The cumulative death toll now stands at 1904.

Imphal: Manipur registered three Covid related deaths, 71 new positive cases (67 general population, four CAPF) and 66 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday, as per an official release from the health department.

All the three persons who expired Wednesday due to Covid are from Imphal East. All three of them had co-morbidities while two of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose. The cumulative death toll now stands at 1904.

26 of the persons who test positive out of the 67 from the general population are from Imphal West, 16 from Imphal East, 12 from Ukhrul, five Bihsnupur, four from Churachandpur, three from Kakching, two from Senapati and one each from Kamjong, Kangpokpi and Thoubal. Altogether, 2,081 persons were tested, amounting to a positivity rate of 3.4 %.

Meanwhile, of the 66 persons who recovered and were discharged, 17 are from home isolation, 40 from CCCs and two from RIMS and six from JNIMS.  The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.35 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 22,970 out of which 1,19,706 have recovered leaving 1,360 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on October 19, 2021, is 6,592 and the cumulative number of doses administered is 18, 48,683 (1st dose 12,38,100, 2nd dose 6,10,583).
