Manipur logs significant surge of 27 Covid positive cases

Of the 27 persons who tested positive, 13 are from Imphal West, seven from Imphal East, three from Bishnupur and one each from Kakching, Chandel Tengnoupal and Thoubal.

Imphal: Positive cases in Manipur continued to climb steadily as 27 more persons from the general population tested positive in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Sunday. 

During the same period, there was no report of any Covid-related deaths while 13 persons recovered, as per an official release from the Health Department. 

Of the 27 persons who tested positive, 13 are from Imphal West, seven from Imphal East, three from Bishnupur and one each from Kakching, Chandel Tengnoupal and Thoubal. Altogether, 356 persons were tested, amounting to a positivity rate of 7.6 %. 

All the 13 persons who recovered are from home isolation. The recovery rate of the state as of Tuesday stands at 98.35 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 37, 439 out of which 1, 35, 175 have recovered leaving 144 active cases in the state.

As on July 9, 2022, 82 D-type ocygen cylinders and 3 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.

The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on July 10, 2022 are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 14 beds out of which three are occupied while 11 are vacant. RIMS has 47 beds and all 47 are vacant. 

 The total number of doses administered on July 9, is 369, the cumulative number of doses administered is 29,84,295 (1st dose 15,98,012, 2nd dose 12,66,511) and precautionary dose is 1,19,772.
