Manipur logs one death, 17 positive cases, 16 recoveries Sunday

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Imphal West. He did not have any co-morbidity and had not been vaccinated for Covid.

Imphal: Manipur reported one Covid related death in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Sunday. During the same period, 17 persons from the general population tested coronavirus positive and 16 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Imphal West. He did not have any co-morbidity and had not been vaccinated for Covid. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2001.

Of the 16 persons who tested positive from the general population, eight of them are from Imphal East, six from Imphal West, and one each from Bishunpur, Kakchinng and Thoubal. Altogether, 712 persons were tested for a positivity rate of 2.4 %.

 Meanwhile, 16 persons recovered and were discharged, seven of them from home isolation, five from CCCs and four from JNIMS. The recovery rate in Manipur now stands at 98.26 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,723 out of which 1,23,540 have recovered, leaving 182 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on December 25, 2021, is 1,264, the cumulative number of doses administered is 22,95,405 (1st dose 13,19,028, 2nd dose 9,76,377).
