Manipur logs 48 positive cases Friday

Imphal: Manipur reported 48 new positive cases (42 general population, 6 CAPF) in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday. During the same period, there was no report of any Covid related death while 18 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Of the 42 persons from the general population who tested positive, 13 are from Imphal West, six from Imphal East, nine from Churachandpur, four from Thoubal, three from Chandel and one each from SenapatiKakching and Kangpokpi.  Altogether, 1,967 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 2.4 %.

Meanwhile, 18 persons recovered and were discharged, 10 of them from CCCs, four from JNIMS, three from home isolation and one from RIMS. The recovery rate in Manipur now stands at 98.13 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 26,012 out of which 1,23,657 have recovered, leaving 346 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 6, 2022, is 4,638, the cumulative number of doses administered is 23,37,615 (1st dose 13,35,098, 2nd dose 10,02,171).
