Manipur: IPR Director releases monthly journal – Nongshaba

Dr. Th. Charanjeet Singh commended the “Nongshaba” team on its 12th foundation day and celebrated the re-launch of the journal after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Imphal: Dr. Th. Charanjeet Singh, Director of Information & Public Relations (IPR), released the monthly journal “Nongshaba” during a solemn event held at the Auditorium of the DIPR Office Complex, Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal West, on Wednesday. 

The event was also graced by Ksh. Shanta, Secretary of the CPI State branch, Manipur, and Tongbram Ramesh Singh, Joint Director of IPR, who served as the president and guest of honour, respectively.

As the chief guest, Dr. Th. Charanjeet Singh commended the “Nongshaba” team on its 12th foundation day and celebrated the re-launch of the journal after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized the Directorate’s commitment to the welfare of journalists and highlighted various support schemes available for media personnel.

Dr. Singh invited media professionals to participate in the “Best Editor and Best Reporter” competition, organized by the Directorate, with the winners to be announced on National Press Day this year.

In his presidential address, Ksh. Shanta voiced concerns about the proliferation of unofficial and unauthorized media groups on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Joint Director T. Ramesh Singh noted the growing prominence of journalism and reflected on the challenges faced in the past. He expressed satisfaction with the emergence of qualified professionals and advancements in technology, emphasizing the importance of quality writing and news presentation.

Among the eight monthly journals recognized by DIPR, “Nongshaba” stands out, and he encouraged the team to continue their dedication to enhancing the journal.
