Imphal: Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited Moreh, a border town in Tengnoupal district, on Saturday to review the security situation in the area.
During his visit, Governor Acharya was briefed by Brigadier Ved Pal, Commander of the 26th Sector Assam Rifles, at the 5th Battalion Headquarters in Moreh. The briefing was attended by IGP Kabib K, senior officers from the police and Assam Rifles, and other district-level officials. The Governor urged the officers to prioritize the safety and security of the residents in the district.
Governor Acharya also met with representatives of various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), who shared their administrative challenges. He assured them that necessary measures would be taken to address their concerns.
Additionally, the Governor inspected the Indo-Myanmar border fencing in Moreh and interacted with officers from the Border Roads Task Force (BRTF), who updated him on the progress of the fencing works.
The Governor also visited relief camps at Moreh Higher Secondary School and the 5th Battalion Headquarters, where he met with internally displaced persons (IDPs) and distributed relief materials.
