Imphal: Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya today released a book titled “The Winning Feet: Shoes of Olympic Sports” at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. The book, published by the Department of Sports Medicine at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), focuses on the importance of selecting the right footwear for different athletic disciplines.
Prof. AK Joy Singh and other doctors from the department were present at the book launch. Commending the department’s efforts, Governor Acharya noted that as the first book of its kind from Manipur, it will greatly benefit athletes in making informed choices about their sports shoes.
Additionally, members of the Manipur North Economic Development Association (MNEDA) from Senapati met with Governor Acharya at Raj Bhavan. They invited him to attend the upcoming cultural and traditional food festival, scheduled for the first week of November.
The association also briefed the Governor on their initiatives to improve the socio-economic conditions of people, particularly in Manipur’s hill areas. The Governor praised their efforts and wished them success in their future endeavors.
