Imphal: Education Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh declared the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) Exam, 2021 Saturday.
Declaring the result of this year’s COHSEM exam, S Rajen informed that the total number of candidates whose assessment report has been received from different Higher Secondary Schools (private and govt.) and XII class opening colleges by the Council is 31136. Out of this result of 31074 candidates has been declared and 62 candidates’ result has been withheld.
There are 59 candidates waiting for a conducive atmosphere for the subject improvement exam. Applications of 972 students are being awaited to be submitted to the Council. These students can submit their application till July 31, 2021 according to the Council’s notification.
According to this year’s result, 16,395 students are declared to be passed in the first Division, 13,100 students in the second Division, 1,557 students in the 3rd Division and 22 students in simple pass. In terms of district-wise pass percentage of students, Bishnupur, Kamjong, Pherzawl, Ukhrul and Chandel district records 100%. Imphal West District has the record of the highest number of students registering 11082 candidates to appear for this year while Pherzawl district has the lowest by registering just 4 students for the exam.
Overall pass percentage including Arts, Science and Commerce stream is 99.80%. A total of 9061 students from Arts, 21,387 from Science and 747 in Commerce stream totalling 31195 students got enrolled this year. 31,136 students appeared and 31,074 got promoted. Declaring the result at the Conference Hall of the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur, Rajen Singh said that the declaration of the COHSEM, exam 2021, in time during this pandemic hour is a good sign of the education sector of the state. The Minister also appreciated the efforts of the Education Department, COHSEM, education Commissioner, Director and exam controlling officers.
Rajen also said that the marking modalities were framed after minute discussion and consultation with the resource persons and education experts. If any student or guardian is not satisfied with the marking assessment system, they can apply for appearing the exam physically, the minister added.
Commissioner, Hr. and Tech. Education, M. Harekrishna, IAS, Director Education (S) L. Nandakumar, IAS, Chairman, COHSEM, Dr. L. Mahendra attended the ceremony as president and guests of honour respectively. Contoller of Examination, members of Council and Staffs were also present during the occasion.
