Manipur: DEO Kangpokpi briefs polling teams

DEO/DC addressed the polling teams and emphasized that they play a crucial role in making the election successful in the district

Kangpokpi: The District Election Officer (DEO)/DC, Kangpokpi, Mahesh Chaudhari, Monday chaired a meeting at the Extension Building, DC Office Complex to brief the polling parties on their work allocations for the ensuing 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024. 

 DEO/DC addressed the polling teams and emphasized that they play a crucial role in making the election successful in the district. He reminded them that the success of the election in the district depends on their dedication and commitment towards their duties. 

 Praising the polling teams for their hard work and involvement till date, he encouraged them to continue their hard work in close collaboration with teams to ensure for a free, fair, smooth and transparent election. Highlighting the importance of teamwork and coordination among different teams, he advised all to stay vigilant and work towards maintaining the integrity and credibility of the election process.

 District Coordination and Supervision in-charge N. Shokhongam Baite informed the officials about the process and procedures for dispersal and receiving of the polling parties on the election day. He appraised the polling parties that four separate counters are being made for Saikul, Saitu and Kangpokpi Assembly Constituencies, including one help desk counter. 

Additionally, he informed that parking allotments have been set up for duty officials at the Kangpokpi Community Hall from April 16-18, as there are restrictions on parking vehicles from the DC complex to the National Highway on the said date. The officials were also briefed on the procedure for receiving polling officials, verifying EVMs, and ensuring proper sealing of the machines.  

He also briefed the essential services teams about their specific roles and responsibilities during the election process. The responsibilities included ensuring uninterrupted power supply, provision of medical services for any emergencies, fire prevention and management measures, transportation for officials, adequate manpower to assist during the poll process, availability of drinking water, proper bathroom facilities, efficient waste management, proper functioning of sound systems and cameras.  

DEO/DC was also joined by James Doujapao Haokip (CEO, SH-ADC) and District Nodal Officers. It may be mentioned that the dispersal of the polling parties and security personnel will be held on April 17-18 at the Brigadier Thomas Ground, Kanapokpi.
