Imphal: People of Manipur specially the Congress party has started spade works for a historic Bharat Nyay Yatra to be flag off by Malikarjun Kharge,Congress President from Imphal, Manipur on Jan 14, 2024.
Manipur Congress Chief, K Meghachandra addressing the media here on Wednesday at the Congress office said Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders will take part in the march which will traverse through 14 states covering 6500 km.
Meghachandra said the rally will conclude at Mumbai on March 20, 2024 which will be taken up after the success of ‘Bharat Jodo yatra’.
Meghachandra said the route was worked out and about 85 districts will be covered. Meghachandra said from Manipur the rally will proceed towards Nagaland and pass through other north eastern states like Assam, Meghalaya before proceeding towards West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The rally will be taken out to achieve “Justice for democracy, women, economy, employee, for different social problems” Meghachandra said.
Meghachandra said during Bharat Jodo yatra, Rahul Gandhi covered about 4,500 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir covering 12 states. He appealed to all people of Manipur to take part in the rally. This is the time to fight for our rights and the Congress party will start a mass campaign to make the programme a success, he added.
