Imphal: The winners of competitions in various categories held as part of the state-level Republic Day celebration held at the Kangla have been announced.
In march past, in the uniform category, the Combined CDO contingent (TBL, KCG, BPR) secured the 1st position, the BSF contingent came in 2nd, and the 3rd position went to the 6th Bn MR contingent (Guard of Honor).
In the school uniform category, NCC Senior Air Wing came in 1st, 65th NCC Senior Girls secured the 2nd position, and Sainik School-B secured the 3rd position.
National Sports Academy (boys) and Malom Mega School secured 1st and 2nd positions in the school contingent category, while Hindi Secondary School (Kanglatombi) and TG Higher Secondary School were declared joint 3rd place winners.
In the college category, Manipur College came in first, while GP College and DM College of Science (Girls) came in second and third, respectively.
In the Band Party category, the young Eagle Brass Band Sagolband-A took first place; second place went to the 9 IRB (Mahila) Band and the VDF Band, Imphal West; and third place went to the Home Guard (Female) Band.
The Tourism Department bagged the best gate construction, while the Forest Department and Social Welfare Department came in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
In the Cultural Dance Troupe category, Rongmei Cultural Troupe, Noney was declared the winner, while Khurai Konsam Leikai Meitei Inat Kanba Lup and Rabunamei Dance Troupe, Senapati, secured 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
Lastly, in the tableau category, the Horticulture Department secured the 1st position, RUSA (Higher Education) secured the 2nd position, and Samagra Shiksha Manipur, the 3rd position.
