Manipur CM greets people on Lui-Ngai-Ni

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh greeted the people of Manipur, particularly, the Naga brethren, on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni, the seed-sowing festival.

“Lui-Ngai-Ni is celebrated on the 18th day of February every year amidst social gathering and rejoicing,” N Birenn Singh said in his message, and added, “Our festivals through community events such as dances, songs, feasts, and prayers teach us to share the joy with one another.” He said that festivals like Lui-Ngai-Ni also strengthen the bond of oneness among the people.

Terming the festival as an opportunity to experience other cultures and appreciate diversity, CM Biren called on all, “irrespective of religion, faith and community to partake and spread joy and caring.”

N. Biren Singh also joined “our Naga community in praying for a bountiful and bumper harvest and a prosperous year.”
