Manipur: Army rescues driver of an overturned truck in Bishnupur

The incident, which took place on August 12, 2024, occurred while the truck was traveling from Moirang to Phougakchao.

Bishnupur: The Indian Army swiftly rescued a 69-year-old driver, Keisam Tomba Singh, after his truck (registration number MN05C 1574) skidded off NH-2 and overturned into a pond near Mamang Lekhai.

The incident, which took place on August 12, 2024, occurred while the truck was traveling from Moirang to Phougakchao. Soldiers from a nearby camp responded immediately, pulling the driver from the submerged vehicle. 

A medical team provided urgent care before transporting him to the nearest government hospital. 

A press note from the PRO (Defence) for Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh emphasized the Army’s ongoing commitment to offering timely assistance and medical support during emergencies, reinforcing its role as a vital support system for local communities.
