Manipur: 16 hectares of illegal poppy cultivation destroyed in Kangpokpi district

On Friday, a team led by the Kangpokpi Range Forest Officer (RFO) cleared 13 hectares of illegal poppy cultivation in the Champhai Sub-Division's T. Khonomphai hill range.

Kangpokpi: The destruction of illegal poppy cultivation continued in the hill ranges of Kangpokpi district.

The drive to clear illegal poppy cultivation was carried out by a team of 133 men, including 33 personnel from Kangpokpi and Senapati Forest Divisions, along with district police officers from Kangpokpi and Imphal East.

On Friday, a team led by the Kangpokpi Range Forest Officer (RFO) cleared 13 hectares of illegal poppy cultivation in the Champhai Sub-Division’s T. Khonomphai hill range.

Meanwhile, an additional 3 hectares of illegal poppy cultivation were also cleared by a team of district police at the Aigejang hill range in Saikul Sub-Division. The team also removed one illegally erected hut from the location.
