Chennai:In an elephant attack in an estate at Gudalur in
the hilly Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, a 38-year-old man died and his
friend injured late on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Nowsath, a local resident. He and his
friend Jamaal were walking through a wooded area near the estate when
they were attacked by a wild elephant.
Locals residents staged protests and demanded the police to drive away
the pachyderm to the forest areas to prevent further human-animal conflict
attack.
