Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday expressed her shock at the tragic train fire in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, where many lives are lost, and urged the Indian Railways to be more vigilant and less callous about safety and human lives.
Another devastating incident in railways, this time at Madurai (Tamil Nadu) on Saturday, involving a massive fire in a train and leading at least nine shocking and tragic deaths and minimally 20 critical injuriescases,” she said on her Twitter handle.
” While I convey my condolences to the families of the deceased and pray for the injured, I expect that inquiries will find the responsible person soon”, she said.
May I also urge the railway authorities to be more vigilant and less callous about safety and human lives? Banerjee questioned the railways.
