Makar Sankranti festival observed at NIT, Hamirpur

Hamirpur(HP): Celebration of Makar Sankranti as a part of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ a cultural program was observed by Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Club, NIT Hamirpur today via Google meet through online mode with partner institute NIT Calicut as per the guidelines of Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

Prof. Pradeep Kumar, Dean (Student Welfare), NIT Hamirpur and Dr Supriya Jaiswal, Nodal Officer, EBSB Club, NIT Hamirpur inaugurated the online event. They welcomed the students of NIT Hamirpur and NIT Calicut along with Dr Rajanikant GK Dean (SW), NIT Calicut and Dr Sudev Das, Nodal Officer, EBSB, NIT Calicut.

Prof. Pradeep Kumar, Dean (Student Welfare), NIT Hamirpur wishes Happy Makar Sankranti to all the students, staffs and faculty members of both the institute and said this festival is celebrated differently among several states in India which indeed shows the rich cultural diversity of India. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Club of NIT Hamirpur is grateful to all the students of both the institute for their enthusiasm, interest and participation in making this online event successful.

Dr Supriya Jaiswal, Nodal Officer, EBSB Club, NIT Hamirpur said Makar Sankranti is one such festival which is very important to Indian history, culture and spirituality and is celebrated annually on January 14th with great pride and joy and promises to continue to work with partner institute NIT Calicut in the days to come.
