LCB police seizes counterfeit currency notes valued Rs 4.45 lakh, 4 arrested

In a press statement Saturday evening, on a tip from police informer, LCB team laid a trap at Marali village on Kolhapur-Gaganbavda national highway and stopped a car. After searched, police found counterfeit currency in Rs 500 and Rs 100 notes of valued Rs 4,45,900 and also seized their car and materials to making counterfeit notes total valued Rs 12,62,480.

Kolhapur: Local Crime Branch (LCB) team Saturday seized counterfeit currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 100, total valued Rs 4.45 lakh and arrested four people with seized car and materials for preparing counterfeit notes total valued Rs 12.62 lakhs.


In a press statement Saturday evening, on a tip from police informer, LCB team laid a trap at Marali village on Kolhapur-Gaganbavda national highway and stopped a car. After searched, police found counterfeit currency in Rs 500 and Rs 100 notes of valued Rs 4,45,900 and also seized their car and materials to making counterfeit notes total valued Rs 12,62,480.


Police team arrested four people who were identified as Chandrshekhar Balasaheb Patil(34), Abhijeet Rajendra Pawar(40), Digvijay Krishnan Patil(28) and Sandeep Balu Kamble(38), all from the same district.
Police are investigating further.
