Kavaratti: The Lakshadweep administration on Monday celebrated its 66th Lakshadweep Formation Day in a colourful manner with the active participation of people from all walks of life.
A Anbarasu, Advisor to the Administrator, hoisted the National Flag at Gandhi Square in this capital island, an official statement said here.
He received the Guard of Honour of Lakshadweep Police, India Reserve Battalion, CRPF, Forest Guard, NCC and NSS contingents.
In his speech, Anbarasu reiterated the commitment of the administration to uplifting the standard of the Island’s people.
The Lakshadweep administration is celebrating the formation day with a week-long programme as iconic Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. A variety of programmes are planned for this week.
