Kerala Police begins probe on life threat to PM Modi

The anonymous letter, recived by State BJP President K Surendran at his office address was handed over to State Police DGP a few days ago.

Thiruvananthapuram:Kerala Police on Saturday began a probe about a letter threatening to launch a suicide bomb attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his two-day visit to the State begining on April 24.
The Prime Minister will be in Kerala on April 24 for announcing the launch of several development programmes including the flagging off of Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express train.
The anonymous letter, recived by State BJP President K Surendran at his office address was handed over to State Police DGP a few days ago.
The letter in Malayalam was written by a person identified as NK John residing in Kochi. However, he told the police that the letter might have been sent in his name by somebody residing in the area. His family suspects the role of a man, having issues with NK John on matters relating to a local church, behind the letter.
Meanwhile, security was tightened and about 2,000 additional police men were deployed in connection with Modi’s visit to Kerala following the issue, sources said on Saturday
