New Delhi: Rebutting AAP’s charge that the Bharatiya Janata Party wants to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to prevent him from campaigning in the Lok Sabha election, the saffron party on Thursday said Kejriwal is ‘not above the law’.

Slamming Arvind Kejriwal for not appearing before ED, BJP Delhi’s Party President Virendra Sachdeva said Kejriwal has been behaving like a fugitive.

“AAP leaders are making noise that the Chief Minister can be arrested any time. These people have committed theft, corruption and now they want to make this theft an event which is shameful”, he added.

BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj also slammed him saying he is not above law. If Kejriwal has not done anything wrong, why he is shying to appear before ED.

“The ED has sent three summons, but the CM is running away from an investigation. He doesn’t want to be involved in the investigation,” Swaraj said.

On Wednesday night, Delhi Minister Atishi said the Chief Minister would be arrested today. “News coming in that ED is going to raid @ArvindKejriwal’s residence tmrw morning. Arrest likely,” she claimed on X.

AAP leader Jasmine Shah claimed the BJP wants to finish the AAP.

Kejriwal skipped the summons for the third time citing prior engagements due to the Rajya Sabha election and the Republic Day. He also asked the Enforcement Directorate to respond to his previous letters.

On November 2, he skipped the first ED summon saying he was busy with the election campaign. In December, he said he was going on a Vipassana trip.
