Kamjong: Hill Leaders’ Day and Meeyamgi Numit was conducted on Friday at Kasom Somrei Village, Kamjong District under the supervision of DC Kamjong, Rangnamei Rang Peter.
SP Kamjong, Ningshem Vashum, Major Saurabh Jha, 4 AR Somrei Post, SDOs of four subdivisions of the district, DLOs and officials of various departments head of the district attended the event.
Addressing the event, DC of Kamjong, Rangnamei Rang Peter said that this event was held to cater to the various grievances regarding government related schemes and other services intended to facilitate the well-being of the villagers. He assured that each and every concerned department will take up all complaints and grievances to fulfil the needs of the people. He also urged the concerned department of the services to take up the matters seriously.
On this day, altogether 300 applications were received under various departments including Social Welfare, Health, Education, Veterinary, CAF&PD, Horticulture, Fisheries, MSRLM, Agriculture, DIC, etc. Benefits under health-related schemes such as PMJAY, CMHT, ABHA were distributed to 40 (forty) individuals. District Social Welfare officer distributed 20 (twenty) UDID (Unique Disability ID) to the eligible beneficiaries.
More than 40 (forty) ADHAAR cards are issued; 20 NFDP and 15 PMMSY are registered under the Fishery department. Agriculture department received 5 (five) RKVY applications which was resolved on the spot. 10 (ten) Soil Health Card were also distributed on. More than 80 (eighty) patients were treated and medicines were distributed free of cost under the medical department. The education department had also distributed school stationeries and uniforms to 5 (five) Schools.
Later, DC Kamjong, Rangnamei Rang Peter had an open round table meeting with the headmen of Kashung village, Khunthak, Tarong, Kongleiram, Lairamkhul, Khamlang, Kasom Khullen, Kharay Khullen, Somrei, Yesom and Nambashi Khunou and discussed on various developmental issues of the villages.
