Kakching: As part of the nationwide observance of Good Governance Week – “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore,” the District Administration Kakching, under the overall supervision of Rohit Anand, Deputy Commissioner Kakching, organised special camps aimed at addressing public grievances and enhancing service delivery. The event was held at the DC Office Complex, Kakching district.
Several government departments, such as Social Welfare, Consumer Affairs Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), Horticulture & Soil Conservation and administrative offices like BDO Kakching, SDC Hiyanglam and SDO Kakching opened service stalls for the public. Financial institutions like the State Bank of India, Kakching branch and the Manipur State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) Kakching branch also took part in the event.
The service stalls offered a range of services, including the issuance of various certificates such as Income, OBC, Domicile, Permanent Residence, and Scheduled Caste certificates. Also, new job card registrations were facilitated and there were awareness campaigns about government schemes. A key highlight of the camp was the dedicated focus on addressing public grievances.
The event was attended by Moirangthem Kapajit Singh, MCS, ADC/ADM Kakching, Shri Kherdananda Potshangbam, MCS, SDO Kakching, other district administration officers, and District Level Officers (DLOs).
It may be mentioned that Good Governance Day is celebrated annually on December 25 to honour the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister, late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Instituted in 2014, the Good Governance Week or Sushasan Saptah is marked by a series of activities highlighting the government’s unwavering commitment to providing transparent, efficient, and accountable governance to the people.
