Kakching: Deputy Commissioner Kakching, Manipur, Rohit Anand on Thursday inspected the progress of various developmental projects under the Watershed Development Component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (WDC-PMKSY) in Kakching district.
The visit was to assess the progress and implementation of the key initiatives for water conservation and agricultural infrastructure under WDC-PMKSY.
During the inspection visit, Rohit Anand reviewed rooftop harvesting, farm ponds, spring sheds, pucca irrigation canals and other works taken up under WDC-PMKSY. These initiatives are part of the broader WDC-PMKSY scheme, which focuses on sustainable water management and improving irrigation facilities for farmers.
The Deputy Commissioner visited several locations, including Serou, Tangjeng, WaikhongLaimanai and Langmeidong to evaluate the on-ground progress.
DC Rohit Anand also inspected the progress of the construction of 49 houses ate being built to rehabilitate displaced families. During the inspection, the DC was accompanied by Anunay Anand, SDO Waikhong, S. Nabachandra, the Project Officer for rural Development and Panchayati Raj, and Serou, which ar other officials.
