Kakching celebrates 73rd Republic Day

The Deputy Commissioner took salute from the contingents including Manipur Police, Kakching district, Manipur VDF, Kakching district and 37 Assam Rife Band contingents commanded by SDPO Kakching, Konjengbam Geetchandra Singh, MPS.

Kakching: Kakching District Administration Wednesday celebrated the 73rd Republic Day at Kakching District Headquarter joining the nation-wide celebration. The district level celebration was held at DC office Complex, Kakching with Deputy Commissioner Somorjit Salam, IAS unfurled the National flag and saluted the contingents.

The Deputy Commissioner took salute from the contingents including Manipur Police, Kakching district, Manipur VDF, Kakching district and 37 Assam Rife Band contingents commanded by SDPO Kakching, Konjengbam Geetchandra Singh, MPS. 

Addressing the gathering, Somorjit said that the day is a very proud day for the nation. After attaining Independence on 15th August 1947, the Indian Constitution came into force on this day in 1950. The day the Constitution came into being is celebrated as the Republic Day of the country, he said.

He further stated that in the past two years,  the COVID pandemic has affected us all, and everyone is equally responsible  for maintaining proper Standard Operating Procedures laid down by the government. Unitedly we can defeat the pandemic. Amongst the new district, Kakching is progressing very fast and march forward. We should work for a peaceful, prosperous and developed Manipur. he added.

Altogether 66 personnel of Civil and Police were accorded with Certificate of Appreciation by the Chief Guest.

The celebration concluded with Additional DC Adahrii Maheo proposing  the Vote of Thanks.
