Imphal: Assam Rifles in a joint cordon and search operation with Border Security Force, Indian Reserve Battalion and Churachandpur Police recovered weapons and war-like stores at the outskirts of D Haolenjang village, Churachandpur district (Manipur) on December 5, 2023.
Based on input received from own sources concerning the likely presence of weapons cache and war-like stores in general area D Haolenjang village, Assam Rifles launched a joint cordon and search operation with Border Security Force, Indian Reserve Battalion and Churachandpur Police in general area D Haolenjang village on 05 December 2023.
The arms and ammunition recovered during the operation include: three local made single barrel Gun, one local made pistol, two 9mm ammunition, two country-made improvised long-range heavy mortar (6 ft), one tear gas gun, one tear smoke shell, two tear smoke shells and fake currency amounting to Rs 1200, according to a press note from the PRO HW IGAR(S).
The recovered weapons and war-like stores have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for further investigation.
