Imphal: A combined team of Manipur police and Assam Rifles recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition on Saturday.
Acting on specific intelligence of the presence of weapons in the general area Pechi in Thoubal district of Manipur, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police jointly launched a search operation on Saturday, an official of the Assam Rifles said.
During the operation one 7.65 mm Pistol, one revolver, one single barrel rifle, five grenades and other war like stores were found.
The recovered items have been handed over to the Police, according to a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
