Jiribam: As different districts in Manipur are gearing up for the upcoming 2022 election, Jiribam district is also preparing steadily for the poll that will be held on March 5.
As per the provisions provided by ECI, Absentee Voters belonging to the special categories viz. (i) 80+ (AVSC) (ii) PwD (AVPD) (iii) COVID 19 (AVCO) can avail of the facilities of Postal Ballot in Jiribam District for the 12th General Election to Manipur Legislative Assembly, 2022. All electors in the 40-Jiribam Assembly Constituency who are above 80 years (387 Nos) and marked as PwD (173 Nos) in the electoral Roll have also been provided Form 12D before the due date.
The Assistant Returning Officer, of the 40-Jiribam AC have received forms in 12D 147 nos of 80+ (AVSC), 11 nos of PwD (AVPD) and 0 for COVID 19 +/suspect from electors for exercising facility of Postal Ballot as Absentee Voters by the last date of receipt of forms on February 9, 2022.
A total of 147 nos. in 80+ (AVSC), 11 nos. in PwD (AVPD) and zero COVID 19 (AVCO) +/suspect electors have been found eligible for issuance of PB as Absentee Voters after all the forms have been verified and checked.Designated teams of Polling Officers will visit such electors for facilitating their voting by postal ballot paper in two rounds. It may be mentioned that the 1stRound visit will be held from February 25-27, 2022 and the 2nd Round visit for absentee voters from February 28 to March 2, 2022.
