Imphal: Jairam Ramesh, Senior Congress Election Observer has condemned the proposal of Chief Minister N Biren Singh to legalise sale of IMFL in Manipur.
Chief Minister N Biren during an election campaign announced that BJP government will allow the sale of IMFL in Manipur.
Jairam addressing the media here on Friday at Congress office said the issue raised by outgoing Chief Minister during an election campaign earlier was not reflected in the manifesto of BJP. BJP President Nadda had also stated ‘ zero tolerance to drugs but no tolerance to alcohol, this is amazing’.
There are important issues like farmers’ issues, poor vaccination in the state, he said. Only 48 percent of the eligible people were vaccinated with both the doses of Covid vaccine in Manipur , Ramesh added.
Devabrata, Vice-President, Manipur Congress said the Congress party is totally against the idea of allowing sale of IMFL in Manipur.
