Gangasagar:Murari Mohan danced with Krishna’s flute as a foreigner standing on the seashore in the name of Hare Krishna.
Guests from around the world joined him in a friendly manner to the tune of that name. Each person’s foreheads were smeared with sandalwood.
In the opening ceremony of Prabachan camp on the sea shore on Wednesday morning, the foreigners associated themselves with this Sagar Mela by incorporating the Krishna form into themselves.
Through this program of the Gangesagar Mela, they practically inspired the poet Rabindranath Tagore’s thought.
There was a global atmosphere at the Sagar Mela on this day. With their dance performance and rhythmic sound, they urged world peace.
On the other hand, the Green Gangasagar Mela was inaugurated on January 8.
Minister Bankim Hazra, District Magistrate Sumit Gupta, Additional District Magistrate Syed, Additional District Magistrate Shankar Santara, Gangasagar Bakkhali Development Board Chairman, along with distinguished guests and officials attended.
They are honored with northern and floral hymns. Before this, the inauguration ceremony started with a fancy dhaki, kansar and dhunuchi dance performance.
Especially the performance of the female artistes impressed the guests of the day’s event.
There was so much excitement in the air that the District Magistrate himself clapped. On this day, guests urged everyone to become part of this initiative to transform the Sagar Mela into an environmentally friendly event.
Meanwhile, pilgrims have been flocking since the start of the fair. The crowd will continue to increase from today. This is what the fair committee members think. That’s why continuous communication has started from Wednesday from Sagar to Kachuberia, Kakdwip to Babughat everywhere.
Pilgrims should buy a bus ticket once and go to Kakdwip without queuing for a vessel ticket.
A special step has been taken for this. Pilgrims cross the vessel from Howrah and reach Babughat where they will find the camp office of the State Transport Department.
There is no problem if you buy a combo ticket for 200 taka. One ticket can go from Kakdwip to Vessel Sagar. No tickets are required for vessels. Buses are available at Babughat from dawn till night.
On the other hand, Eastern Railway has launched many special train services from Sealdah, Princep Ghat, Kolkata for the fair. It is open till January 17. Most of it is galloping.
All in all, the state government and the Gangasagar Mela Committee are ready with all kinds of services for the pilgrims.
