Imphal: As observed across the globe, International Yoga Day was also observed in various districts of the State.
In Thoubal district, it was observed in different Health and Wellness Centres of the district. Under the aegis of the District Administration Thoubal, the District Health Society, Thoubal observed 8th International Day of Yoga in 9 Health and Wellness Centres of Thoubal District at Tekcham, Tentha, Ukhongang, Thoubal Khunou, Haokha, Waithou, Irong Khunou, Haoreibi Mayai Leikai and Athokpam Village.
The District level International Day of Yoga program was held at Tekcham Village in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal. ZP Member, Langathel Zilla Parishad, Soibam Ibetombi Devi; CMO Thoubal, Dr. Y. Nokul Singh; Pradhan, Tekcham Gram Panchayat, Langpoklakpam Iboyaima Singh; Michael T. Mate and, Medical Officer in Charge, Primary Health Centre, Khongjom Dr. Th. Shamananda Singh attended the programme.
In her speech, Soibam Ibetombi Devi, spoke on the importance of performing Yoga in our everyday life. Yoga is important to keep our health fit. It helps in balancing our body, mind and soul. She also appealed to the people to join hands in such good practices which will keep diseases far away.

Health and Wellness Centre, Haoreibi Mayai conducted the International Day of Yoga at Haoreibi village.
International Yoga Day was also observed at Tentha Multiplex organised by Health and Wellness Centre Tentha and District Yoga Assn., Tentha.
Similar programmes were also held at HWC Athokpam, Thoubal Khunou and Waithou.
In Chandel district, the main celebration was organised by the District Administration, Chandel at Women Market, Japhou Bazar, Chandel. Under the theme “Yoga for Humanity”.
Tuesday’s celebration at Japhou bazaar was conducted by MO Ayush Dr. Rajkumar and Yoga therapist Shri Sanayaima Mayanglambam of Komlahabi PHC. The celebration was attended by the ADC Chandel Shri Md. Firoj Khan, SDOs, DLOs, and many yoga enthusiasts of the district.

The celebration also took place at Police Head Quarter, Chandel under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police Chandel, Mahesh Naraian.
International Yoga day was also celebrated at District Hospital Chandel and also at the UCC College which was jointly organised by NYK, NCC, and NSS.
In Senapati district, the International Yoga Day was observed Tuesday at Multipurpose Hall opposite to Mini Secretatiat Complex, Senapati which was jointly organised by District Administration, Senapati and NYK, Senapati.
During the programme, four well-trained Yoga practitioners from Pantanjal led and demonstrated various yoga postures.
In today’s programme, around 150 people participated in the International Yoga Day consisting of DLO’s, Security personnel from the Police and CRPF, NYK Volunteers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and students.
It may also be mentioned that the day was observed in various institutions such as District Hospitals, Don Bosco College, Maram.
