Chennai: An Institution Innovation Council (IIC) has been
set up at SIMATS School of Engineering, a constituent of Saveetha
Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences here.
This is an Initiative of ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ and has been
established and made functional to systematically foster the culture
of Innovation.
IIC at SIMATS School of Engineering also promotes innovation in
the institution through innumerable modes leading to an innovation
advancement eco-systemin the campuses, according to a press
release.
IIC’s team at SSE also facilitates a vibrant local innovation ecosystem
to establish a functional ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation
of ideas and developing better cognitive ability in engineering and
technology students.
In this regard, the faculty of SIMATS School of Engineering participated
at the regional meet of the IIC recently at Sathyabama Institute of Science
and Technology.
The program focused on creating awareness of various initiatives and
functions of IICand MIC detailing the benefits of being an active participant
of the same by faculties.
