Indian Army provides solar lights in Manipur’s villages

The provision of solar lanterns will immediately benefit students of these far-flung villages and assist them in their quest for learning especially during the examinations.

Imphal: Army distributed portable solar lanterns at Semol and Samusung villages in the Kangpokpi District of Manipur on 22 February 2024, as part of the Operation Sadbhavna, to boost the national effort of promoting renewable energy devices.

This initiative will have a positive impact on the lives of more than 350 villagers of these villages, where uninterrupted power supply through the concentional means is a challenge. 

The provision of solar lanterns will immediately benefit students of these far-flung villages and assist them in their quest for learning especially during the examinations.  

The Indian Army through its projects is committed to bring a positive change in the crisis hit region.
