Indian Army organises medical camp bringing care and compassion to Kadangband

Imphal: Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to community welfare, the Indian Army conducted a comprehensive Health and Awareness Camp at Kadangband village in Imphal West district under *Operation Sadbhavana*. The initiative underscored the Army’s continued efforts to foster goodwill and enhance the well-being of local communities.

A dedicated team of Army medical officers, including dental specialists, carried out free medical consultations and distributed essential medicines to 280 villagers, comprising  176 women, 72 men, and 32 children. The camp also extended medical services to 06 personnel of Manipur Rifles and 04 members of the civil police, ensuring wider outreach and support.

In addition to medical treatment, a Health Help Desk was established to raise awareness about lifestyle-related diseases, preventive healthcare practices, and general well-being. The Camp also provided ABO Blood grouping to the local populace. Residents were also provided with mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, and walking sticks, along with essential health-monitoring devices, significantly improving their quality of life.

As part of its holistic approach to community health, the Army team conducted hygiene and sanitation drives and undertook mosquito control measures in and around the village to help prevent vector-borne diseases.

The initiative was met with heartfelt appreciation from the villagers, reflecting the strong bond of trust and cooperation between the Indian Army and the local population. Through such outreach programmes, the Indian Army continues to reaffirm its role not only as a vigilant guardian of the nation’s borders but also as a steadfast partner in nation-building and community development.
