Imphal: The Indian Army provided critical supplies of hygiene stores to address the issue of maintaining hygiene at Kharipok Relief Camp in Kangpokpi district of Manipur.
The requirement was identified in consultation with the village chiefs of Jhanglenphai, Sadarjoute, Manamjang and T Mongbung villages during the interaction by Army officers.
It was noted with concern that the relief camp was facing an acute shortage of health and hygiene items like sanitary napkins, soaps, hand sanitizers etc. The Army provided much-needed support and distributed these essential items.
The provision of these items would certainly go a long way in ensuring hygienic living conditions and preventing the spread of diseases in the relief camp.
The Indian Army has been relentlessly reaching out to displaced people due to the crisis in the state since May 2023 and collaborating closely with all communities.
The Indian Army assures to support all without any bias for people to steer through this challenging period, said a press note from the PRO(defence) Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.

Community Hall at Nepali Bast
Indian Army constructed and dedicated a Community Hall at Nepali Basti village of Senapati district in Manipur under Operation Sadbhavana. The facility has been provisioned addressing the requirement projected by the villagers during interactions with Army.
The newly inaugurated community hall will cater to the diverse needs and interests of the villagers such as cultural events, educational programs, social gatherings and civic meetings. The hall will provide a welcoming and accessible space to all the villagers to come together and exchange ideas.
The initiative reflects Indian Army’s unflinching commitment towards developing the infrastructure to cater for the requirements of local population in these far flung areas and contribution towards nation building.
