Indian Army celebrates Republic Day across Manipur

Imphal: The Indian Army celebrated the 76th Republic Day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor across multiple locations in Manipur. The event fostered unity, national pride, and harmony among the communities and showcased the Army’s unwavering commitment to strengthening ties with the people and promoting a shared sense of patriotism.

At Leimakhong Military Station, a solemn yet joyous ceremony was organized, bringing together students, teachers, and Army personnel. Children from Red Shield Army Pre-Primary School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Disha School and L&H Bethel School participated in the event. The ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by recitation of the National Anthem. The event concluded with the distribution of sweets, symbolizing unity and joy, leaving a lasting impression on the younger generation.

In Bongmol village of Thoubal district and Genesis Academy in New Canaan Village of Ukhrul district a flag hoisting ceremony was held with servicemen and villagers in a shared moment of pride and camaraderie. The program concluded with the distribution of sweets, instilling pride and unity among students and villagers.

Children, teachers, and locals from different communities came together to celebrate Republic Day, fostering unity and pride in the nation’s heritage at Paramount Standard English School in Leikhoching, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Andro (Imphal East), Khurkhul in Imphal West, and the villages of Dwarika and Makhan in Kangpokpi district.

Flag hoisting ceremonies were held in collaboration with locals at Hautak, Sendra, and Wangusabal in Bishnupur district, as well as Siden in Churachandpur district. These events featured games for children and women, a painting competition that highlighted creative expressions of patriotism, and friendly volleyball matches.

Prizes were distributed to winners, and the celebrations concluded with shared meals, fostering stronger ties between the Army and the local populace, stated a press note from the PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
