Gangtok: Dubbing the SKM Government under P S Tamang as an “agent” of outsiders, former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling on Monday said his party Sikkim Democratic Front would come to power in the 2024 Assembly elections in the state.
‘I am coming to power in 2024, We will contest with our selected candidates. I am going to contest, and fight my last political battle for ensuring power for the people of Sikkim. We want to save them and make their future secure,” announced Chamling, now the sole MLA of his party Sikkim Democratic Front.
“Sikkim Govt is an agent of outsiders. The outsiders, anti-Sikkim people, have been persuading and pressing us, pointing fingers at us. They could not do so during our government (1994-2019),” he said.
Chamling claimed that during SDF rule, people’s rights were safe. “But post our government, Sikkim’s condition has not been good. We want all Sikkimese to be secure. The public is the owner of the land. Now Sikkim has been spoilt and sold,” said Chamling.
